Le Corbusier…

This house/inn to be restored, made up of two buildings of 200 and 100 m², is the only creation born of the collaboration between LE CORBUSIER and JEAN PROUVÉ. Listed on the Inventory of Historic Monuments, with a classification procedure underway concerning the façades, chimneys and load-bearing structures (this allows flexibility for interior work and layout, without restriction).

A mutual esteem bound the two men. Their only officially joint work is this building. Originally, décor by FERNAND LÉGER was planned, but it was later abandoned.
Set on a plateau, the building stands apart from the urban developments, which gives it all the more importance on the site. Owing to its isolation from the town, it is not subject to strict planning rules but responds to the requirements of the landscape.

This original work bears witness to the exchange of ideas between the two builders. Each implemented accomplished approaches in this building.
