A quinta whose origins date back to the 12th century. It is one of the oldest in Sintra (a UNESCO World Heritage site), 20 minutes from the airport. It stands on the site of what was once the Almosquer Forest — the very forest that the first king of Portugal, D. Afonso Henriques, gave to the Templars in gratitude for the services rendered during the reconquest of Portugal from the Moors.
Within the quinta is a charming little grotto lined with East India Company plates, in memory of a banquet given there for a member of the Royal Family toward the end of the 19th century.
The property comprises an 800 m² maison de maître, a guest house, a caretaker's house, and garages and annexes for a total surface area of around 400 m². The whole stands on 35,000 m² of mainly wooded land.
